Europcar gives CO2 figures on site

In a responsible and innovative step, Europcar UK will launch a revamped website where the information about the cars available for rent will include their carbon emissions so customers can gauge their carbon footprint created by their vehicle choice.

Each category will contain the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere under normal driving conditions in its info list. This is only the first step in taking environmental responsibility for Europcar, who has recently purchased a slew of hybrid vehicles to add to its fleet. Being the first car rental company to offer this information, fleet director Tim Bailey is confident that other agencies will follow his lead both with the posting of emissions, hybrid cars and research into biofuel technology.

So which car in Europcar’s fleet is the least polluting? The mini three door Peugeot 107 is posted as the vehicle emitting the least amount of CO2, and has already proven to be one of the company’s most popular choices.
