Rental car firm globalCARS is introducing a range of vehicles and rates in the country.

Croatia, along with other eastern European and Balkan countries, have been growing in popularity as holiday destinations, and the market for car hire is reportedly increasing along with the region’s popularity with foreign visitors.

From its rental location at the Dubrovnik airport, the company offers a wide range of vehicles, and now has offices at major cities as well in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.

Car hire rates start from A$51 for a two-door manual SEAT Marbella or similar vehicle, at the Dubrovnik airport, based on a seven-day rental, up to around A$81 per day for a four-door manual Citroen Xsara or the equivalent.

Rental car prices include unlimited mileage, airport surcharges, breakdown assistance, and insurance, such as a collision damage waiver, theft waiver and third-party liability.

Andrew Morgan, the director of globalCARS, noted that vehicles may be taken out of Croatia for travel to other European countries, for a fee of two euros per day, but that cars may not be taken into Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Greece, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldavia, Romania, Russia or Ukraine.
