Sixt expands total number of UAE outlets to three

Car rental company Sixt has announced the opening of a new outlet at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Sixt already operates two outlets in the UAE, one each in Dubai and Sharjah.

Sixt has said that the new outlet in Abu Dhabi is a result of burgeoning demand from tourists, business travellers and the growing number of expats in the UAE. The car rental company's manager Malcolm Cooper says the opening of the first Abu Dhabi outlet has been a core part of Sixt's plans. He says the company has seen rapid growth in the last few years, and the UAE is one of the areas it is looking to expand in.

Sixt operates in excess of 4,000 stations all over the world.

The new branch at Abu Dhabi airport will provide customer with a choice of smaller vehicles right through to luxury and full size units. Four-wheel drives and SUVs will also be available.

Cooper has said that the positive business climate in Abu Dhabi has meant Sixt will be providing everything from corporate car leasing to chauffeur-driven services. He adds that the car rental company is looking forward to providing business or leisure travellers in Abu Dhabi with affordable and reliable vehicles, and affording them a rental service that's easy to use and hassle-free.

The Sixt car rental company recently won the World's Best Car Rental Agency 2009 accolade at the Travel + Leisure awards. The European car giant has recently added electric cars to its rental vehicle fleet in Denmark, the first European rental agency to so.
