German car hire provider Sixt has continued its westward expansion via the launch of a new location in Phoenix.

Officials from the company said via a press release that the new branch at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport would provide “excellent service and affordable vehicles" to customers in the American West. The location will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The move is part of the company’s efforts to further tap into the US market; according to the press release Phoenix Sky Harbor is one of the country’s 10 largest airports. Officials said that it serves as a major gateway for a number of major tourist destinations, including the city of Sedona as well as the world-renowned Grand Canyon National Park.

Branch manager Brian Hughes said in a statement that he was “thrilled” to see Sixt launch operations in Arizona’s largest city, noting that the area is “booming”. He added that the branch is fully prepared to provide reliable service to both leisure and business travellers.

In addition to Phoenix, Sixt’s expansion efforts have seen the company launch branches in a number of key cities in the southeastern part of the United States: Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Miami and Orlando.
