Car hire firm Avis is expanding its presence on the Island of Taiwan.

Car hire firm Avis is expanding its presence on the Island of Taiwan.

Officials from the global rental firm announced last week that the company would be bringing its total number of locations in Taiwan from 20 to more than 30 via a new agreement with regional gas firm National Petroleum Corp. The new locations will began operations from 1 June, according to report published by Focus Taiwan on Tuesday.

Andy Peng, president of Avis Taiwan, said in a statement that his firm continues to strive towards bringing customers the highest quality rental services to the island. He went on to add that the launch would coincide with the brand’s first anniversary in the Taiwanese market.

The news follows the launch of several new locations positioned at stations along the Taiwan High Speed Rail network. The move came via a contract with local parking company DoDoHome Parking Management; Avis officials said that the eight new outlets are located at key points on the popular north-south travel link.
