Car hire firm Hertz UK has launched a Premiership partnership with the West Bromwich Albion football club.

Car hire firm Hertz UK has launched a brand new Premiership partnership with the West Bromwich Albion football club.

Officials from the UK division of the global car hire giant said in a press release issued on Wednesday that the deal would allow fans of West Bromwich Albion to enjoy discounted rental rates via a newly launched microsite.

According to the release, the scheme will enable fans to take advantage of “accelerated membership” for the firm’s Hertz #1 Club Gold program in addition to discounts of up to 10 per cent.

Hertz International president Michel Taride said in a statement that the partnership marks the company’s first agreement with a British Premiership football club and went on to say that the firm was “thrilled” to have West Bromwich Albion join its other UK sporting partners MotoGP and Wimbledon. Mr Taride added that the great discount rates on offer through the deal would be available to fans throughout the year.

Likewise, West Bromwich Albion partnership head Iain Wain said in a statement that the club was excited for the effort, which he said will span the 2012/13 season. He added that fans would be able to enjoy the benefits whether the club is playing on the road or at home at the Hawthorns.
